EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.3-34
AbstractKnowledge transmission near the young adults in situation of handicap is part from now on of the managerial concerns of the companies. It holds an important place in the relations between the various generations of employees since the transmission became a major stake of integration. Its experimental methods (relation of assistance, accompaniment, guardianship, coaching, visit of site) are numerous and fall under a marked logic of professional insertion. Up to what point does the intergenerational transmission of the knowledge support the training of the young adults in situation of handicap confronted with differentiated cultures of training? Two competitor models of transmission can be highlighted and discussed at the glance of the professionalization of the referents which contribute to insertion in the youth employment handicapped.

Liberal Arts Colleges in their own sake, can we have them in Korea? : New agenda for RIGHT governmental financial support
EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.35-57

EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.58-75
AbstractDuring the First World War, several billion French letters and postcards were sent on both sides of the front. Politicians and the military headquarters quickly realized the determining influence of letters on the troops' morale. Communication analysis of the function of these written messages from this perspective seems relevant for at least four reasons: to describe the front as an ethnographic study of the war; to recount the horror of war as a therapeutic release; to study the letters as a means of circulating information between the front and the rear; and to capture these communication exchanges as organizational vectors between the front and the rear.

Systèmes d'écriture : Transformations et convergences
EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.76-93
AbstractIn a world marked by cultural transformations, writing systems are not spared from changes as well. In communication contexts mediated by Information and Communications Technology (ICT), in particular, there are observable transformations that affect not only so called phonographic (alphabetic) written systems but also logographic writing system (Chinese). These changes may lead one to think of a gradual hybridization of writing systems which could lead to profound transformations of the concept of writing as we understand it today. In this sense, we are interested in incorporating the point of view of contact between systems, for which we focus on the contact between alphabetic writings and Chinese writing. The observation of the changes that are occurring in both types of writing systems allows us to consider in a new way the tendencies of writing in general in the framework of the phenomenon that Walter Ong has called “the secondary orality.” In this context, because of multiculturalism and the progressive contact between writing systems, it is conceivable that the already visible hybridization will increase, even leading to a certain degree of convergence.

EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.94-119
AbstractIt is about proposing a history of theater semiotics, from the texts outlined by Eisenstein and the Russian formalists in the early twenties, who are advancing the future semiological study of the performing arts. This theater semiotics of the first generation will be followed by the structural analysis of the performance and, at the end of the century, the study of the reception of the spectacle. The incursion of digital technologies in the stage (virtual scenographies, actor-avatar: Avactor) means a new challenge for a theatrical semiotics of the fourth generation.

Huysmans gastronome : Une sémiotique des gastromanies contemporaines à partir d'À rebours
EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.120-145

EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.146-161
AbstractThis article starts from the hypotesis that plates and food as any other texts, clothes, places and space, literature, etc. constitute concentrated significations of the culture to witch they belong. Soupe refers to a frensh plate while harira refers to a Moroccan one. Both of them are famous and very present in table. But these two plates are not only made in two different ways, but also present two oppsite ways of dealing with diferents ingredients and with the alterity and the identity in generral. In the following article, it is about to study them as a text submitted to a specific syntax and reflecting a special attitude towards identity and alterity.

EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.22 pp.162-181

“Who Owns and Controls Life?” : Techno-Garden and Its Toxic Bodies in Ruth Ozeki's All Over Creation
EPISTÉMÈ :: Vol.21 pp.3-26
AbstractIn the mid-20th century, to make her toxic narrative more meaningful, Rachel Carson presented an allegory of a pastoral American town in her book Silent Spring (1962). At the turn of the 21st century, in the same vein, Ruth Ozeki pursues fictional toxic narratives that tackles the dangers of the meet industry in her first novel, My Year of Meats (1998) and the ones of monocultural crops in her second novel, All Over Creation (2003). Especially, in All Over Creation, she focuses on chemical poisoning and toxic bodies through the topic of monocultural potato farming. She expands the issue of toxicity to ask a fundamental question: who owns and controls life. This paper focuses on the complexities of agribusiness such as monoculture, chemical inputs, toxic bodies, as well as corporate capitalism's attempt to own and control life through biotechnology. This paper further analyses Ozeki's exploration of two potential methods through which individuals might intervene in this powerful corporate control of life: Japanese-American Momoko's biodiversity garden and the Seeds of Resistance who are green guerrilla activists against genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Finally, this paper explores the significance of a fictional space created by the non-linear and non-hierarchical form of this novel.
